Begin with the actual municipality
The Peoria area includes separate cities and villages on both sides of the river. This directory is a way to organise enquiries from Canton; it is not a single municipal service boundary.
For an inherited house, state the property town and ZIP even if the family contact lives in Peoria. If the mailing address differs from the community where the home actually stands, explain that in the access notes. It helps us distinguish the contents location from the person submitting the form.

Peoria County’s current page reflects the transfer station that opened in June 2026. If you have an old landfill address or a remembered collection arrangement, check the current county source before travelling. Eligibility and accepted materials matter as well as opening hours.

Why the town name changes the removal plan
For eligible Peoria city households, bulky furniture can be part of ordinary weekly collection. Pekin and East Peoria publish different routine rules that exclude bulky furniture. Marquette Heights directs residents to independent garbage providers. Start with the exact town and account; crossing between these programmes can change the plan for unsold pieces.
The county transfer-station programme has its own household-residency, load and material conditions. A family member travelling from elsewhere or a hired clearance company should establish eligibility directly rather than assuming a free household load applies to them.

West Peoria has its own contracted service. Check that account when arranging remaining furniture, rather than using Peoria’s bulky-waste guidance. If a relative lives in Peoria but the contents are here, keep West Peoria as the property town.

East Peoria’s ordinary cart collection excludes bulky furniture and mattresses, as well as building materials. A house with several unsold pieces needs a separately confirmed removal plan; an old cleanup notice does not establish a collection for your deadline.
Keep furniture available for review until you decide its destination. Show complete sets, then explain any pieces reserved for family, visible damage and the route out of the house. If a partial purchase would leave you unable to meet the handover date, say so before an inspection is discussed.

Pekin
Pekin excludes bulky furniture, mattresses, appliances and electronics from ordinary collection. Its residential programme also has property-type limits. Check the actual address and current provider, particularly for apartments or commercial premises; Peoria city’s weekly bulky service is a different programme.
Before the home must be empty, list which pieces family will collect, which are available for purchase and which still need another destination. Ask the provider to confirm the remaining items and date. Send the available group, access details and deadline for a contents review from Canton.

Creve Coeur
Use the Illinois village’s own recycling information, not advice for Creve Coeur, Missouri. Send the actual property ZIP and ask the existing hauler about items outside ordinary service after you have decided what to keep or offer.

Marquette Heights
Marquette Heights says the city does not provide garbage service. Identify the provider on the property’s account before planning the unsold contents. A garden or street service supplied by the city should not be mistaken for furniture collection.

North Pekin
North Pekin is a separate village. Use the property’s current account to establish disposal arrangements; a Pekin address in a general search does not confirm Pekin city service. Tell us whether only selected purchases would still help with the deadline.

Bartonville
Peoria County lists Eagle Enterprises as a curbside recycling contact for Bartonville and surrounding areas. Check eligibility for the address and specific materials; recycling a moving box and removing the cabinet it held are separate arrangements.

Peoria Heights
The village’s waste page links separately to bulky-item arrangements. Check those terms before choosing a final empty-house date. Keep saleable sets together and photograph them before any remaining-item pickup.

Chillicothe
The county directory lists curbside and drop-off choices with different conditions. Ask about the intended material and any customer requirement before loading a vehicle. For a sale enquiry, show the collection separately from boxes intended for recycling.

The county lists a Hanna City curbside recycling contact. Use it to check the current property service, then plan separately for furniture outside a proposed purchase. For nearby rural homes, describe the actual entrance and any long carry in your enquiry.

Glasford maintains its own garbage billing and village contacts. Ask about the remaining large items before assuming they fit the regular collection. If family members are sorting rooms over several visits, date the photographs and update the available list.

The county’s curbside directory names a provider for Elmwood. Confirm the property’s current arrangements before scheduling the removal of packing material or everyday leftovers. Send a separate set of photographs for any shop stock and household contents.

Peoria County lists both a curbside contact and a recycling drop-off at Brimfield Library. Its drop-off guidance excludes furniture and electronics. Use those options for the right materials after deciding what is being kept or offered for purchase.
