Start with the belongings you want to pass on
A Canton enquiry might concern one unusual cabinet, the contents of several rooms, or a whole property that needs a plan. Begin by saying which of those describes your situation. A purchase of selected pieces and an agreement to leave a property empty involve different work.
Seek Unique grew from Clutter Cash In and brings together Jessica’s contents buying, Etsy vintage shop and Canton accommodation. This is the business’s homebase. Visits and drop-offs still need an arrangement: a nearby address does not book an inspection, and the website is not an invitation to bring unsorted items to a walk-in shop.
A useful order for a Canton house
Before packing, ask everyone involved to identify the belongings being kept. Use a separate room or simple removable labels where appropriate. A photograph of an entire room is difficult to assess if half the furniture has already been promised to relatives.
Then make a short record for each included space:
| Space | Useful first photographs | Details to include |
|---|---|---|
| Living and dining rooms | One wide view, then the most interesting furniture and lighting | Which pieces form a set; any known repairs |
| Bedrooms and storage rooms | Included furniture, open cupboards and grouped boxes | What is staying with the family; whether boxes have been checked |
| Garage or workshop | An overview and separate views of recognisable equipment or collections | What belongs to the property owner; anything excluded |
| Access | The doorway and route out, if an item is particularly large | Stairs, tight turns and usable parking |
You do not need to empty cupboards onto the floor or move a heavy piece to find a label. Send what can be photographed safely, then describe what remains inaccessible. Keep private paperwork and identity documents out of the pictures.
Buying, donating and clearing are separate decisions
The first review looks at the contents’ potential suitability for the business. Age, original cost and sentimental importance do not establish a current offer. Condition, completeness, demand and the work involved all matter. See what we buy before investing time photographing excluded categories.
If we discuss an offer, ask what it covers and what would remain. Keep that list alongside your other arrangements, so a family collection, donation pickup and purchased furniture do not overlap. A closing date or end of tenancy belongs in the initial enquiry; please do not assume a contents review can meet it until a timetable is agreed.
For things you decide to dispose of, Canton’s Streets & Garbage Department publishes a separate bulk-item booking service and local recycling contacts. The city currently lists a $10 charge per bulk item and asks for advance arrangements. Check the item, address eligibility and current payment instructions with the city before setting anything out. This municipal service is independent of Seek Unique.
If you are travelling back to Canton to deal with a home
Send the photographs and your available dates before making the trip. Tell us whether someone local can unlock the property and whether the included contents will be unchanged when a visit becomes possible. A single named family contact makes follow-up easier, especially when different relatives are deciding what to keep.
Jessica also offers a Canton stay , booked separately through Airbnb. Booking accommodation does not schedule an estate visit or include a shop tour.
Your next step
Use Canton as the property town only if that describes where the belongings are. For a home outside town, include its actual community and ZIP, even if it has a Canton mailing address. Send estate photographs with a description of the contents, your preferred outcome and a working contact method. We will review those details before discussing a visit or purchase.
